About The Role
This Department is seeking an experienced
EL1 Project Manager
to lead critical standards and terminology initiatives in digital health. You will deliver projects that shape innovative, standards-based solutions, enhancing how healthcare is connected and delivered nationally.

Contract Duration:
June 30, Possibility of 1x 12 Months extension

Location:
Canberra, ACT

Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to obtain Baseline security clearance
  • Ability and willingness to obtain national police check
  • Selection Criteria Response

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate Allied Health clinical information standards and terminology uplift projects
  • Oversee the development and implementation of minimum system requirements for digital health solutions
  • Manage project roadmaps and dependencies across multiple initiatives
  • Deliver expert advice on digital health standards, interoperability, and clinical terminology
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, government agencies, and industry stakeholders
  • Lead risk management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare high-quality briefs, papers, and reports for senior decision-makers
  • Represent the program through strategic engagement with external stakeholders and industry bodies

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven project management experience in digital health, healthcare, or standards development
  • Background in the health industry or organisations such as Standards Australia highly regarded
  • Strong track record in managing complex projects in multi-vendor environments
  • Deep understanding of digital transformation, interoperability, and standards implementation
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing senior-level briefs and reports
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, pivot across projects, and deliver under pressure
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and change management skills
  • Experience in developing and applying digital health or clinical standards (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of SNOMED or other clinical terminology standards (desirable)
  • Allied Health service delivery experience (desirable)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, project management, informatics, IT, or related field
