Import Operations Officer (Sea/Air )

Location: Derrimut

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Freight Forwarding Experience is Compulsory

We are seeking a reliable, detail-driven, and customer-focused Import Operations Officer to join our dynamic freight forwarding team.

In this role, you will support our Import & CS Departments across Air and Sea shipments (FCL, LCL, AIR). Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless coordination end to end solutions and handling of import shipments while delivering excellent service to our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle customer enquiries and provide timely, accurate updates.
  • Manage end-to-end import processes for FCL, LCL, and Airfreight shipments.
  • Coordinate with overseas agents to ensure smooth, on-time cargo movement.
  • Obtain and negotiate freight rates and schedules.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary import documentation.
  • Proactively resolve issues and communicate updates to clients.
  • Build strong relationships and act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant import regulations and company procedures.
Requirements:
  • Freight forwarding industry experience is essential (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Solid understanding of international shipping processes (Air & Sea).
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized under pressure.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to be the 'go-to' person for customers.

  • Knowledge of INCOTERMS, shipping documentation, customs tariffs, and import/export compliance practices.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with logistics software and systems such as Cargowise and Microsoft office is compulsory.
  • Qualifications in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields are advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work in a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Right-to-work in Australia

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years Freight Forwarding experience.
  • Previous Import & Customer Service experience.
  • Operational experience preferred but not essential.
  • Cargowise experience is essential.
  • Please no HR Agents.
