In this pivotal role, you will help maintain the high standards of service and operational excellence that have earned us our stellar reputation, while actively contributing to the restaurant's ongoing success.
Position Overview:
This full-time position requires flexibility, with availability primarily from Monday to Saturday, and Sundays and public holidays off. As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will work closely with the senior management team, adopting a hands-on approach to ensure operational efficiency, uphold impeccable service standards, and support both team growth and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional service and professionalism, ensuring every guest enjoys a flawless dining experience.
- Proactively identify and implement strategies to improve service quality and elevate the overall guest experience.
- Oversee functions and private events, managing operations to ensure smooth execution and high service standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations, fostering a safe, clean, and well-organised environment for staff and guests.
- Develop and manage weekly staff rosters, aligning with business needs and performance targets.
- Handle administrative responsibilities, including stock management, performance analysis, and budget tracking.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- A relevant qualification and at least 2 years of experience in an Assistant Restaurant Management role, ideally within a high-end, award-winning restaurant (preferably a hatted venue).
- Strong knowledge of fine dining service, a refined understanding of Italian cuisine, and an appreciation for boutique wines.
- Proven expertise in managing restaurant operations, including rostering, stocktakes, and financial performance.
- A passion for hospitality and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Demonstrated ability in budget management, controlling labour costs, and driving operational efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a focus on developing and supporting team growth.
- Impeccable organisational skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A proactive and solutions-driven approach, with the ability to think on your feet and handle challenges effectively.
- A personable, professional demeanor, capable of engaging warmly and authentically with both guests and staff.
