As Assistant Restaurant General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that every guest enjoys the exceptional dining experience we are renowned for, while driving business performance and team development.

Position Overview:

This position requires flexibility to work primarily Monday to Saturday, with Sundays and public holidays off. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with the senior management team, taking a hands-on approach to ensuring operational excellence and high service standards across all aspects of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of front-of-house staff to ensure the highest level of service and professionalism.
• Identify areas for service improvement and implement strategies to enhance the guest experience continually.
• Collaborate with the Chef and Management team on menu planning and seasonal changes.
• Organise and oversee functions and private events, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service.
• Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations, maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for both staff and guests.
• Create and manage weekly staff rosters in line with business targets and operational needs.
• Manage administrative tasks, including stock control, performance analysis, and budget oversight.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• A relevant qualification and at least 2 years of experience in a assistant restaurant management role within a high-end, award-winning environment (preferably in a hatted restaurant).
• Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards, with a deep appreciation for Italian cuisine and boutique wine offerings.
• Proven experience in managing restaurant operations, including rostering, stocktakes, and financial performance analysis.
• A passion for hospitality, with an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Expertise in managing budgets, controlling labour costs, and driving operational efficiency.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and staff development.
• Outstanding organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and think on your feet.
• Professional and personable, with the ability to engage with guests and staff in a warm, genuine manner.
