About the Role

You will join the Enterprise Risk Management team within Group Risk & Compliance – the second line of defence at Hollard. Reporting through the Chief Risk Officer to the CEO and Board Risk Committee, the team plays a critical role in building resilience, embedding risk culture, and ensuring compliance with APRA standards and broader regulatory expectations.

In this role, you'll support the Senior Manager, Operational Risk, to:

  • Strengthen and embed Hollard's operational risk management framework
  • Provide clear, pragmatic risk advice that supports business objectives within appetite
  • Review and challenge first line risk activities, surfacing systemic risks and improvements
  • Oversee risk in change initiatives, including transformation projects and third-party arrangements
  • Facilitate identification, assessment, and reporting of key operational risks (e.g. people, business continuity, fraud)
  • Develop policies, training materials, and contribute to Board and Committee reporting
  • Uplift Hollard's risk culture across APRA's 10 dimensions.

About you

You will bring strong operational risk expertise and a practical approach to influencing senior stakeholders. Including:

  • Substantial operational risk experience in insurance and/or financial services (general insurance strongly preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of APRA CPS 220/230, the Privacy Act, and other regulatory standards
  • Experience providing independent risk oversight in large scale change or transformation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex risk issues into actionable insights
  • Skilled communicator with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • High integrity, detail orientation, and comfort operating in a fast-moving, regulated environment
