About the Role

In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Business Risk Advisory as a key member of the Line 1 Risk and Control Advisory team supporting the People, Operations, CFO and Actuary Functions.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Lead the design, implementation and assessment of controls across the business functions to mitigate risk exposures and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for incident and issue management activities within the business functions.
  • Design and Deliver reporting and insights on control assurance activities, incident trends, and issue resolution to senior stakeholders.
  • Identify, prioritise and implement opportunities for process improvement in control assurance and incident & issue management.
  • Collaborate with Hollard Risk Management teams (Line 2 and Line 3) on control assurance policy and framework development.
  • Lead and manage a small team of Risk Analysts that support control assurance, incident and issue management team members.

About You

  • At least 5 years' experience in Risk Management and/or Control Assurance within the financial services industry, General Insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of control frameworks, assurance methodologies and best practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of incident management processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to the Australian financial services industry.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Finance, Risk Management or related field, desirable.
  • Experience in operational risk management, audit or compliance functions, regarded favourably.
  • Leadership experience in building and developing teams, highly regarded.
