MINE OPERATIONS ENGINEER

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mine Operations Engineer to join Fosterville Gold Mine and be responsible for the short-term scheduling of the mine operations with a focus on Safe Productivity to achieve the mine plan.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Operations Engineer your duties will include:

Short-Term Scheduling Activities:

• In conjunction with the relevant operations, technical, maintenance and contractor personnel, develop the weekly and monthly development, production, cablebolt and contractor mining schedules
• Ensure the weekly plan is accurate, practical, achievable, clear and reflective of the 3MRS plan
• Work closely with Development and Production Forepersons throughout the week to ensure mining operations are on schedule and in line with the weekly/monthly plan.

Continuous Improvement & Projects:

• Participate in the development and implementation of new and improved methods of operation and use of materials, technologies and equipment
• Regularly contribute to discussions on continuous improvement with team members
• Undertake a proactive approach to your own professional development
• Undertake operational projects.
• Demonstrating leadership by actively promoting and consistently modelling behaviours that uphold and reinforce the site's OHS and environmental standards.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

• Mining Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a Mining Engineer role with underground mining and scheduling experience
• Excellent understanding of underground work practices and procedures
• Excellent computer skills including mining software packages (Deswick, Surpac etc.) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook)

The roster for this residential position will be 8:6 Roster (11 hour days)
