RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT GEOLOGIST
Fosterville Gold Mine invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the position of Resource Development Geologist. The primary purpose of this position is to support various drilling and geological activities aimed at resource optimization and development. The Resource Development Geologist assists in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, contributing to the achievement of departmental objectives while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
Reporting to the Senior Resource Development Geologist, your duties will include:
- Assist in Drill Planning and Management - Support the Senior and Project Resource Development Geologist in planning and coordinating drilling activities. Assist in the implementation of drilling projects to optimize resource development and cost efficiency. Participate in the safe storage and management of drilling and geological data within the site geological database.
- Geological Data Collection and Interpretation - Aid in core logging and geological data collection during drilling operations. Assist in the interpretation of geological data to identify key mineralization zones and geological structures. Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and documentation related to geological findings.
- Departmental Support - Collaborate with the Project Resource Development Geologist and other team members to support departmental initiatives. Assist in HR and administrative functions within the Resource Development team. Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in geological
- Safety and Compliance - Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures during drilling and geological activities. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Senior Resource Development Geologist promptly. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to drilling and geological operations.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field.
- Experience in geological data collection and interpretation
- Understanding of drilling techniques and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in specialized drilling software packages, including Leapfrog and AcQuire.
- The roster for this residential position will be an 8/6 roster.
