At Hope Springs Therapeutic Community (HSTC) in Geraldton, we provide a structured, supportive, and inclusive residential recovery environment. Our approach empowers people to build healthier, more independent lives.

About the Role

As a Community Support Worker at Hope Springs, you'll work directly with residents and clients of the Therapeutic Community and the Transitional Housing and Support Program (THASP).

You'll play a vital part in helping people move towards long-term recovery by offering practical, emotional, and social support. Your role will include advocating for residents, helping them build independent living skills, supporting daily routines, and ensuring safe and structured community engagement.

This is a hands-on, people-focused position that requires empathy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to creating a culturally safe and recovery-oriented environment.

You'll Need

Essential

  • Certificate or Diploma in Community Services, AOD, Mental Health or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting people with co-occurring AOD and mental health concerns
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
  • Cultural competence and commitment to inclusive practice
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and contribute to community life
  • Sound computer and reporting skills
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • WA Driver's Licence, National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination

Desirable

  • Experience in Therapeutic Communities or similar structured environments
  • Knowledge of the 'Community as Method' approach
  • Qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work
  • Experience working with challenging behaviours
  • Commitment to working within a culturally secure framework
