Residential Support Worker – Youth Justice

Kalgoorlie, WA | Part-Time (45 hours per fortnight) Positions Available

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you'll support young people on remand by creating a safe, stable and respectful home environment. You'll guide them through daily routines, encourage healthy choices, and help them meet bail conditions.

When the residence is unoccupied, you'll shift into a community-based role—mentoring youth, building relationships, and promoting the service locally. Flexibility and readiness to return to residential duties at short notice are essential.

What You'll Need

  • Cert III in Community Services, Youth Work, or 1+ year relevant experience
  • Experience with young people, including those with complex needs
  • Strong communication and cultural awareness, especially with Aboriginal communities
  • Practical skills: household tasks, documentation, and use of Microsoft Office
  • A calm, resilient, and respectful approach

Essential Requirements

  • National Police Check (within 3 months)
  • Working With Children Check
  • Current driver's licence & First Aid Certificate
  • DOJ identity verification and full working rights in Australia
