The vibrant Town of Victoria Park is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in a full-time capacity.

Your new role

This position is responsible for comprehensive financial management tasks such as end-of-month processing, taxation obligations, revenue recognition, bank reconciliation, cash flow management and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include providing accurate financial information to stakeholders, identifying continuous improvement opportunities and assisting in financial reporting and audits.

This role is also responsible for leading the accounts team, participating in performance reviews and recruiting staff.

Our ideal candidate has

  • Bachelor's Degree in commerce from a recognised university with relevant accounting experience;
  • possession of, or working towards, a membership of a professional accounting organisation is highly desirable;
  • demonstrated time management and organisational skills;
  • working knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards and other applicable legislation, policies and procedures;
  • demonstrated computer skills;
  • exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Experience working in Local Government financial services is desirable.
