Engage Marine is an Australian port operations provider delivering specialised marine services to a variety of industries. Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, Engage Marine also has operational bases throughout Australia including Dampier, Cape Lambert, Carnarvon, Wyndham, Whyalla, Abbot Point, Port Latta Sydney, and Geelong.

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Accountant will work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide support for reporting across the Engage Marine Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare weekly cashflow reports, monthly credit card reconciliations, and tax submissions (BAS, PAYG, FBT, and Payroll Tax across multiple states).
  • Review and approve invoices in SAP Concur, ensuring correct coding before import into MYOB, and oversee the Accounts Payable function.
  • Monitor and follow up overdue Customer accounts, keeping Debtor Days below 45.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc, partnership, international, and urgent payments with Management Accountants and Financial Controller.
  • Manage end of month processes including journal postings, fixed asset accounting, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Analyse contracts to ensure compliance, maximise financial performance, and manage maintenance budgets effectively.
  • Lead by example in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company values, safety standards, and legislative requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CA/CPA qualified or degree in accounting or working towards professional qualification
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
  • 5+ years industry experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expert MS Excel and power query
  • MYOB experience highly regarded
