About the business and the role

Teakle Accounting is a longstanding accounting practice located at Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills.

Growth in our business means we are seeking an experienced accountant on a full time or part-time basis to join our current team of 16 staff.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The role will primarily focus on managing the compliance obligations and administrative requirements to a diverse range of business & individual clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships & individuals across various business and farming industries with limited supervision.
  • Provide business advisory services to clients.
  • Preparation of monthly & quarterly business activity statements.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Provide advice and support to clients.

Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of current experience working as a tax accountant in a public accounting practice.
  • Proven taxation expertise, excellent technical knowledge and understanding of the Australian tax system is essential.
  • You will have a professional work ethic, accuracy, high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • You are a team player and able to work autonomously on set tasks.
  • You will require broad technical knowledge in various client accounting software packages such as Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks and Reckon.
  • A CPA or CA qualification is not essential.
  • Australian citizenship is required for this position.
