About the Role

We are a boutique accounting firm based in Brisbane, seeking an experienced Tax Accountant / Tax Agent to join us on a part-time basis (approx hours per week to start). The role is fully remote/work-from-home and can be managed around your personal and family commitments. Hours are flexible, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to balance professional work with lifestyle needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and lodgement of individual, partnership, trust, company income tax returns plus SMSF annual returns.
  • BAS, IAS, and GST reporting.
  • Providing tax planning and advisory services to small business clients.
  • Liaising with the ATO on behalf of clients.
  • Assisting with trust accounting processing and reconciliations where required.
  • Reviewing and reconciling accounts to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Supporting the team with general accounting duties as needed.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a collaborative, positive approach to the team. You will have:

  • 4–5 years minimum experience in a tax accounting role.
  • a CPA or CA qualification
  • Current Tax Agent registration (highly desirable, but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with small business clients and trust accounting.
  • High attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently, while enjoying being part of a friendly and fresh team culture.
