Our Environment

Buloke Shire is located in the western part of the state and covers an area of 8,000 square kilometres (3,100 sq mi) and a population of approximately 6,200. It includes the towns of Birchip, Charlton, Donald, Sea Lake and Wycheproof. Our key industries include agriculture, health, education and trades and with improved digital connectivity, we now have a diversity of small business.  The shire have impressive sporting opportunities and facilities, and a well-established arts and culture offering including the Charlton Film Festival, numerous local markets and strong heritage and arts presence which is perfect for creatives and families.

Buloke Shire are in a strong financial and organisational position and offer our next CEO the opportunity to build on an engaged and progressive workforce culture.   Reporting to the Mayor and Councillors, you will be given the opportunity to partner with our staff and engage our community in the delivery of essential facilities, infrastructure, and services to enhance community liveability.

Our Next CEO

Reporting to Council and tasked with leading and supporting what we regard as a very high performing and engaged team.  You will be an experienced Local Government executive with an understanding of rural communities and what it takes to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders including all levels of government.  You will be an entrepreneurial individual and progressive thinker who will both initiate business enhancement opportunities and embrace change.  Your track record of respecting and working in partnership with community will be critical to your success in this position.  Your ability to develop key political relationships and regional partnerships to assist in the advancement of Buloke will be critical to yours and our success.

You will bring a breadth of leadership skills and experiences that position you to lead and support staff in a measured and considered way that encourages individual and allows them to shine.
