CEO Position Overview

The Barengi Gadjin Land Council Aboriginal Corporation seeks a strategic executive leader to drive organisational vision, strategy and growth. This full-time role focuses on building capacity, providing effective leadership and exploring partnerships and opportunities for expansion.

This contract position is based in Horsham, Victoria, and requires a proactive approach to relationship-building with the community to increase engagement.

The ideal candidate will have advanced people leadership skills, deep management experience and the ability to mobilise a multidisciplinary workforce across a broad portfolio of responsibility.

About the CEO Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategy and planning to ensure the organisation is responsive to its Strategic Plan and broader Country Plan.

This role requires a strong professional leader able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, championing safety and collaboration throughout the organisation.

Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing day-to-day operations of a diverse organisation at executive level, with accountability and effective coordination across staff, community and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of Aboriginal governance, corporate governance and general management practices within Aboriginal organisations and communities.
  • Strategic financial management, sustainable enterprise development and driving organisational growth are key areas of expertise required.
  • Ability to drive organisational priorities through the Country Plan and the Strategic Plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively across different cultural contexts.
Mandatory Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Salary Range: A$200,000.00/yr - A$250,000.00/yr
