We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, development and lifecycle management of our lending and credit card products.
Reporting directly to the Head of Product Development & Management, this is more than just an average role - it's a unique opportunity to design and manage products that meet the distinct needs of the Defence community. This role is responsible for driving product growth, enhancing customer experience, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and delivering strong outcomes for the Defence community.
In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams and alongside product managers to understand the financial needs of those in Defence, in particular home buying, and deliver innovative, compliant and member-centric lending solutions.

What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of lending and card products, including strategy, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor portfolio strategic KPIs to drive revenue, asset growth and member value and lead initiatives to optimise results.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory obligations, including APRA, Australian Credit Licence (ACL), Design & Distribution (DDO) and Responsible Lending.
- Lead price strategy and ongoing reviews of rates, fees and product features to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
- Manage third-party partnerships to ensure effective product delivery within agreed service levels.
- Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, internal data analysis and customer research to shape product enhancement and new propositions.
- Design and implement new processes, controls and monitoring to support the delivery of new or enhanced products and policies.
- Lead cross-functional working groups with operations, technology, digital, marketing, finance and risk teams to deliver on product objectives.
- Influence and engage senior stakeholders through compelling insights and recommendations.
- Act as a subject matter expert across bank-wide projects and strategic initiatives, championing innovation, process optimisation, and change that enhances member outcomes.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years' experience in banking product management, with experience in lending (home loans, personal loans and credit cards).
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, including ACL, DDO and Responsible Lending.
- Experience in pricing, lending operations or credit risk is highly regarded.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels.
- A collaborative, member-first mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to develop product growth and profitability.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data and insights for decision-making.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Experience with digital product delivery advantageous.
