This opportunity sits within their Projects team - a division focused on the design and delivery of residential townhouse developments and early-education centres.

The Opportunity

The Project Draftsperson is responsible for producing detailed working drawings across a range of construction projects, including single and double-storey residential developments, childcare and early learning centres, and low-rise commercial/retail buildings.

The role covers the full drafting process, from preparing town planning applications and coordinating with consultants to developing working drawings and securing building permits

Core Responsibilities

  • Drawing Production: Prepare comprehensive working drawings for single and double-storey residential projects, childcare and early learning centres, and low-rise commercial/retail developments, ensuring precision and full compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Project Management: Manage the drafting workflow from town planning through to building permit approval, ensuring each stage of the project is delivered on schedule and in line with specifications.
  • External Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with a wide range of external consultants—including structural, civil, hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic engineers, as well as energy assessors and building surveyors—to integrate their expertise and satisfy project requirements.
  • Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams such as Development Managers, Estimators, Pre-Construction Administrators, and Construction Managers to support seamless project delivery and effectively incorporate feedback.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee that all drawings and documentation adhere to the National Construction Code (NCC), Building Codes, Australian Standards, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Documentation Management: Uphold rigorous documentation standards by maintaining accuracy, consistency, and organization across all drawings and project files.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. Provide practical solutions, address challenges quickly, and maintain a professional approach at all times.
  • Project Prioritization: Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering to a high standard within required timeframes. Consistently meet KPIs while ensuring drafting excellence across all projects.

What are we looking for

  • Over 3 years experience as a draftsperson within residential construction
  • Exposure to large scale projects such as medium density or childcare projects
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD Software
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with consultants, and produce accurate, high-quality documentation.
  • Must reside in Victoria with full working rights
