Are you our next Compliance Analyst?

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the role of the Compliance Analyst is twofold:

  • to both maintain an effective BAU Compliance program; and
  • to help evolve the Compliance program to strengthen its ongoing rigour, effectiveness and efficiency.

As a member of the Bank's enterprise Compliance team and broader Risk Management program, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high quality and pragmatic compliance advice to stakeholders across the Bank;
  • Managing and effectively resolving incidents and breaches;
  • Coordinating the Bank's Obligation Management and related Assurance programs;
  • Monitoring the regulatory compliance landscape to help identify regulatory change initiatives likely to impact the Bank;
  • The development and maintenance of policy artefacts that support the Compliance Risk Management Framework;
  • Managing the Bank's primary Risk & Compliance system;
  • Generating high quality Compliance reporting for the Board and Executive team;
  • Assurance testing re both the Compliance Program and Obligations Management attestations.

The role provides the opportunity to develop a genuine end to end understanding of the Bank, to regularly engage with the Bank's Executive and Senior Leadership team, to influence the evolution of the Bank's Compliance Risk Management Framework and play a key role in business-led initiatives and projects - all within a purpose-led mutual bank.

About You

You are a passionate risk and compliance professional with the ability to work across a diverse environment whilst juggling multiple concurrent initiatives, strong stakeholder management skills, high attention to detail and an enquiring mind.. You will utilise your problem-solving skills, initiative and judgement to overcome challenges. Your energy, commitment and level-headed approach will ensure you thrive in this dynamic environment.

You have:

  • At least 5 + years' relevant experience in financial services with a focus on risk & compliance activities;
  • A good understanding of the contemporary retail banking & financial services regulatory environment; and
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance or Compliance (highly desirable).

You will also have demonstrated experience or skills in:

  • Building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Analysing potentially complex situations and identify workable solutions in response;
  • Utilising contemporary risk & compliance frameworks in practice;
  • Developing and conducting monitoring & testing activities;
  • Preparing data and reports;
  • Self-managing your work to achieve deadlines; and
  • Working autonomously.
