The Possum Drey is a gender equity initiative in Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P). Its vision is to create a positive, engaging and respectful workplace where everyone is valued and can thrive. As Senior Project Officer, you will coordinate the delivery of Possum Drey programs, support the committee, and work across the department to expand gender equity and diversity initiatives. You will provide advice, manage endorsed projects, and represent QPWS&P in forums, helping to drive cultural change and support inclusivity across the workforce.
The Senior Project Officer will coordinate the delivery of Possum Drey programs and initiatives and provide high-level support to the Possum Drey Committee.
The Possum Drey is a grassroots gender equity initiative in Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P). Its vision is to foster a workplace that is positive, engaging and respectful for all employees - where individuals are valued and can thrive in a culture of safety. While the primary focus is on gender equity, all initiatives are inclusive and representative of minority groups. This role will also work with divisions across the department to expand and enhance gender equity and diversity initiatives.
As The Senior Project Officer, You Will
- Engage with a multi-disciplinary network to design, manage and deliver Possum Drey initiatives.
- Provide advice and contribute to the continuous improvement of strategies, systems, policies and procedures that support gender equity, diversity and cultural change.
- Support the implementation of organisational initiatives using established project management methodologies. Assist the Possum Drey Committee to promote and facilitate opportunities for women and non-binary employees, and support leadership to bring gender-balanced perspectives into decision-making.
- Prepare project plans, prioritise and implement endorsed initiatives. Research, analyse and report on developments, progress and delivery. Draft correspondence, reports, briefings and submissions.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with staff at all levels to encourage engagement with Possum Drey initiatives and achieve positive program outcomes.
- Act as a key point of contact for the project, representing QPWS&P in forums, interdepartmental groups and external committees.
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, actively engaging to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.

Mandatory requirements
- Nil mandatory qualifications or licences.
- Experience working in diversity, equity or inclusion programs, or related project delivery roles, will be highly regarded.
