Clinical Nurse Consultant

Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) in Ward 2I, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and consultancy within the surgical speciality, primarily orthopaedics. This senior role supports the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator, and multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing clinical leadership and advanced nursing consultancy for orthopaedic and surgical patients
• Supporting and guiding the healthcare team to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care
• Leading quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives in alignment with national standards
• Driving workforce education, mentoring, and research activities to advance clinical practice
• Fostering a positive, collaborative team culture and contributing to strategic service planning

About you:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nursing leader who brings specialist expertise in surgical and orthopaedic care, alongside strong leadership and education skills.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Current registration with NMBA as a Registered Nurse and tertiary nursing qualifications
• Advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in acute surgical/orthopaedic nursing care
• Proven leadership in mentoring, supervising, and developing nursing teams
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to person-centred care, research, and continuous improvement

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
