The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated early learning centres by 2032 as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. The centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep. The centres will provide high-quality, accessible and inclusive early childhood education and care that is child centred, focused on learning through play and in nature, with strong connections to local communities.

Early Learning Victoria's central office is part of the Victorian Department of Education. The central team is leading the roll-out of the 50 centres and will support and oversee centre operations once they open.

Location Profile

Service Integration Coordinator - Early Learning Victoria Regional West

Salary band - $130,673 - $150,833

The Service Integration Coordinator will service the Regional West centres, including the newly opened Murtoa location in 2025, as well as three new centres in Portland, Teesdale & Clunes opening in 2026. The incumbent will primarily service the regional west region, however there may also be a requirement to travel to Melbourne CBD.

About the role

The Service Integration Coordinator will work across their respective region to coordinate the partnership with schools, community organisations and other stakeholders. This role will work closely with centre leadership teams, including the Integration Leads at Early Learning Victoria centres. This position plays a key role in ensuring integration work is prioritised at Early Learning Victoria centres and carried out according to the Early Learning Victoria vision and service integration framework to ensure effective access to and meaningful uptake and utilisation of additional services and wraparound supports for families and to support continuity of learning for children

The integration co-ordinator will also play a key role in establishing and monitoring the governance of the service integration portfolio at area level.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for building partnerships with key stakeholders, including schools, local government and community health organisations.

  • Oversee and monitor the effective implementation of service integration plans for each centre in the designated area.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of partnership opportunities and map these against Early Learning Victoria's service integration framework.

  • Work closely with centre leadership teams as well as Early Learning Victoria central office leadership to ensure effective communication of organisational and place-based priorities.

Experience required will include

  • Previous experience in a similar role and/or proven ability that would be transferrable to carry out the tasks described above

  • Broad stakeholder management – working across all levels of an organisation.

  • Working in a complex multi-stakeholder environment, ideally with exposure to state government and/or local government.

  • An understanding of the child and family service systems landscape and the early childhood education and care sector, including key practice frameworks and community development and capability building theories.

  • An understanding of a place-based approach to service delivery.

  • Experience working directly with communities.

Specific skills/qualifications required

  • A relevant qualification in early childhood education and care, community engagement Community Development, Social Work, Early Childhood Development, allied health, or a related field

  • Current 'Employee' Working with Children's Check

  • Willingness to consent to a National Police Check (to be arranged by Early Learning Victoria)

  • International Police Check required if resided outside of Australia for 12 months or more during the last 10 years
