Senior Method Development and Validation Scientist

Purpose

We are excited to offer a Senior Method Development & Validation Scientist

To provide expertise on a broad range of analyses and act as an experienced analytical method development consultant both internally and externally to ensure suitable methods are available to analyse Blackmores vitamin, mineral & nutritional supplements. This includes evaluating, developing and validating analytical methods for new and existing products.

This role will be based in our Braeside Manufacturing Site based in Victoria. This role will report to an Analytical Validation Team Leader and is a permanent, full-time role.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and influence productive teams to achieve laboratory and customer outcomes, ensuring financial goals related to income, expenditure, and contribution are met.
• Training & Coaching: Train and mentor staff in analytical method development and validation, including protocol and report writing.
• Strong team collaboration to coordinate daily activities, providing support where needed to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Evaluate existing test methods, develop and implement new ones, and validate analytical methods for active and related substances.
• Communicate clearly and appropriately across all levels and functions to drive positive outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure analyses are conducted accurately and efficiently, maintaining scientific integrity and compliance with audit standards.
  Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with company policies for all staff

Who are you?

• At least 5 years' of work experience as a senior scientist in analytical method development and validation in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar industry. Experience of senior method development work related to supplements, OTC, drug in pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree or relevant postgraduate in Chemistry, Sciences or related discipline.
• Demonstrated proficiency in analytical techniques, method development, validation of active and related substances, and scientific reporting with high technical accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical teams, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
• Skilled in managing multiple tasks simultaneously, planning and prioritising workload, and consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and company policies, while actively contributing to process improvements and implementing new methods with initiative.
  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for technical documentation, with strong data analysis, problem-solving, and internet/email navigation skills.
