Primary objective

Provide high-quality technical services related to geospatial data creation, maintenance, and quality control. This position ensures

the accuracy, integrity, and currency of geospatial datasets to support effective, evidence-based decision-making across

government, industry, and the community.

Key duties and responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and operational support to the Manager Geospatial Data Management regarding geospatial data

management and quality control.

1. Undertake geospatial data capture, maintenance and quality assurance in accordance with technical specifications, NT

Government standards, and applicable national or international standards.

2. Participate in the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies for satellite, aerial and terrestrial imagery, and geospatial

data management systems.

3. Contribute to the delivery of timely, accurate and practical technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on geospatial

data and information management.

4. Maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and contractors to achieve data consistency and quality

outcomes.

5. Prepare reports, technical documentation and correspondence for clients, contractors and senior management, ensuring clarity,

accuracy and professional presentation.

6. Demonstrate accountability, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in geospatial data

practices and workflows.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institution, or equivalent; or substantial relevant experience in a technical

discipline closely related to geospatial data management.

2. Demonstrated expertise in capturing, maintaining, and assuring the quality of geospatial datasets.

3. Strong planning and organisational skills to manage priorities and deliver results to deadlines.

4. Sound analytical and problem-solving ability, applying good judgement in technical decision-making.

5. Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

6. Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and explain complex information.

7. Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and maintaining high ethical and professional standards.

8. Ability to work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of contemporary trends in geospatial data technologies and their application in addressing business needs.
