Primary objective

Provide client focused services and technical advice regarding the creation, design, production, geospatial analysis and

quality assurance of maps, plans and datasets for the purpose of informed decision making and consultation by government,

industry and the community.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide technical advice regarding the design, development and delivery of geospatial mapping services and participate

in the implementation of technical specifications, policies and procedures.

2. Provide timely and cost-effective production of client focussed geospatial mapping products and services including the

production of maps, legislative plans and digital data.

3. Contribute to the development and achievement of group objectives in a busy work environment.

4. Actively contribute to a process of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovative solutions.

  1. Actively participate in the implementation of new technologies in geospatial mapping services

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institute, or equivalent; or relevant experience in a field of technical work

closely related to the duties of the position.

2. Experience with geospatial and drafting applications, such as QGIS, in the production of geospatial mapping products and

services.

3. Ability to focus on attention to detail and quality assessment of all geospatial products produced.

4. Ability to work collaboratively and convey technical information to a range of clients.

5. Ability to plan and organize assigned tasks delivering a responsive service in an environment influenced by competing

priorities.

6. Commitment to continuous improvement, and resolution of issues through innovative practices.

7. Sound communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of the land development lifecycle
