About the role
We're looking for an Investment Operations Manager to join our dynamic and fast paced custody team. The right person for this role is a passionate, novice or experienced investor, with an acute attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain daily reconciliation of trades, positions, cash, dividends, orders, and stock transfers.
- Manage corporate actions end-to-end: maintain databases, analyse documentation (e.g. Share Purchase Plans, scheme booklets, takeover statements), assess tax and processing implications, and communicate actions to clients.
- Process corporate actions and equity transfers, maintain client holdings, and liaise with registries, internal teams, and counterparties to resolve issues.
- Maintain and apply withholding tax rules on relevant securities.
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies, including updating and maintaining procedure manuals.
- Oversee investment data management on the platform — from maintaining databases of available investments to adding new securities and ensuring pricing and corporate action history are accurate.
Required experience, qualifications and attributes
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a custodian or similar role, with hands-on exposure to corporate actions.
- Tech-savvy, with strong proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Excel, and other cloud-based tools; VBA and/or JavaScript skills are a plus.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or RG146 compliance are preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently, with excellent organisational skills and the capacity to juggle multiple deadlines.
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting ability, with sound judgment in knowing when to escalate.
- Confident and clear communicator, both written and verbal, who collaborates effectively across teams and platforms.
- Self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in agile environments, and brings a continuous learning mindset.
