About the role

As a Manager - Investment Services, you'll lead the Investment compliance function, overseeing daily operations including mandate monitoring, investment-related regulatory compliance, and associated risk management. You'll manage stakeholder relationships, ensure accurate data reporting, and act as the key contact for investment compliance operations.
Working closely with teams across Investments, Legal, Tax, Finance, Risk, and Compliance, you'll ensure adherence to IMA requirements, internal policies, and regulatory standards. You'll also support risk identification and mitigation, and lead reporting to committees and the broader business.
Day to day, you'll:
- Lead and mentor the team to build a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with IMAs, internal policies, and regulatory requirements, including monitoring In-House Asset thresholds and classifications, Substantial Shareholding, and ensuring compliance with SIS Act requirements.
- Support risk assessments and implement controls, including contributing to liquidity stress testing.
- Manage financial and regulatory audits. This includes reviewing audited financial statements of investment vehicles to ensure compliance with investment mandates and regulatory standards.
- Prepare clear and insightful Board and Committee reporting to support governance and strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement across the investment compliance function.
This role is available as a permanent/ full-time opportunity.
About you
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- Have strong knowledge of investment structures.
- Have a thorough understanding of the role of a custodian and third-party investment administration providers.
- Have knowledge of risk management frameworks and practices in a corporate environment which is regulated by APRA or ASIC.
- Have a relevant qualification in finance, mathematics, business, commerce or economics.
- Have significant experience in investment compliance, investment operations or a fund accounting role.
- Are familiar with investment management agreements (IMAs), fund structures, and compliance monitoring tools.
- Have proven experience leading and developing teams within Investment compliance, risk or a financial services environment.
