It's an exciting time to grow your career with ING, and we're on the lookout for a passionate Reconciliations Officer to join our fun and dynamic team.

You'll be reconciling and clearing assigned transactions processed through various clearing systems. You'll also be investigating, following up on outstanding/uncleared items, creating and transmitting return and refusal files in accordance with industry procedures or ensuring transactions are promptly processed to customers' accounts.

If you have an interest in reconciliations and can hit the ground running on day one, with a passion for clearing, investigating and balancing action items then - this is the role for you

This is a 6-month secondment based in Sydney.

What you'll do

  • Balance reconciliations daily against the General Ledger. These include (but are not limited to) CS1 (Paper Transactions), CS2 (Electronic Transactions), CS3 (Card Transactions), CS4 (High Value Transactions) as well as BPAY, VISA transactions and Nostro Accounts (EUR and USD), etc.
  • Clear transactions in accordance with industry and internal procedures ensuring transactions are promptly processed to the customers' accounts or journalised to appropriate ledger account.
  • Ensure return files, processing forms and journals are completed in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Investigate and resolve all outstanding items within 3 business days and provide an analysis of items greater than 3 business days.
  • Ensure that trace requests and related spreadsheets, special answers, mistaken internet payments, recalls, customer enquiries and dishonours are maintained to a high standard.
  • Complete APCA statistics.

What we're looking for

  • Prior experience in a reconciliations role or exposure to reconciliations will be ideal, but not essential.
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organisation.
