Reception/Sales & Administration Officer (Pathway to Head of Operations)

Location: Sydney CBD

About Us

Boston Institute is a CRICOS-registered English language and vocational provider based in Sydney CBD. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality education, excellent student services, and a supportive environment. We are now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at the front desk, with a clear career pathway into administration and operations.

The Role

This is not just a reception role—it's a growth position. You will begin by managing our reception and day-to-day administrative tasks, then gradually be trained and mentored to take on broader operations responsibilities within the college.

Key Responsibilities

Reception & Admin (initial focus):


• Front desk reception – greeting students, staff, and visitors.


• Handling phone/email enquiries and providing excellent customer service.


• Scheduling appointments, managing diaries, and assisting with class timetables.


• Data entry, record-keeping, and maintaining student files.


• Assisting with enrolments, payments, and basic compliance documentation.

Operations & Compliance (growth pathway):


• Supporting the Operations & Campus Manager in daily functions.


• Learning and assisting with CRICOS/ELICOS compliance processes.


• Supporting student services and welfare functions.


• Coordinating with teachers and academic staff to ensure smooth operations.


• Contributing to projects that improve efficiency and student experience.

About You

We are looking for someone who is professional, proactive, and eager to grow.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:


• Qualification in Business or Business Administration (or equivalent experience).


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).


• Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and pay attention to detail.


• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new systems.

Desirable:


• Experience in an education, training, or student services environment.


• Knowledge of CRICOS / ESOS / PRISMS compliance (training will be provided).


• Studying towards a Diploma of Business, Leadership, or related qualification.


• Knowledge about PRISMS and SMS (Student Management System)
