Our School is an independent K-12 co-educational school situated in a beautiful and inspiring semi-rural environment in the north-west of Sydney. The School has a strong commitment to delivering a rigorous academic program based on 'learning through scholarship' combined with a focus on 'pastoral attentiveness' in the character development of our students. Our School offers a diverse co-curricular program and opportunities for leadership and service.
We are seeking a well-presented, professional and highly organised Administration / Receptionist to provide frontline service at our Reception, manage the school switchboard, and support a range of administrative functions. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for visitors, students, parents and staff, and will demonstrate a high standard of communication, confidentiality and efficiency. This position is Term Time plus 5 weeks onsite in student breaks.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a welcoming and professional ambience in the Reception area
- Managing the School switchboard between 8am–4pm including calls, messages and internal phone lists
- Visitor management, including the Visitor Sign On Register
- Sorting, distributing and lodging daily mail and courier bookings
- Assisting with First Aid and Sick Bay
- Supporting absentee and student attendance processes
- Coordinating bus bookings, student bus passes and liaising with bus companies
Criteria
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to respond to diverse requests and enquiries
- Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple administrative tasks and meet deadlines
- High level of competency with school databases, Microsoft Office and related software, with a willingness to learn new systems
- Ability to work flexibly and problem-solve in a busy environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidentiality, discretion and professionalism at all times
- Capacity for effective conflict resolution
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Adherence to the School's Code of Conduct and Dress Standards
Desirable
- Previous experience in a school or similar administrative environment
- A current NSW Working With Children Check
- A friendly, approachable and professional manner
