Chef / Kitchen Assistant – Fujitori Yakitori & Sake Bar | Neutral Bay, NSW
About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chef or Kitchen Assistant to join the opening team at Fujitori Yakitori & Sake Bar, a brand-new Japanese dining concept in Neutral Bay.

This full-time position is key to helping launch and establish one of Sydney's most exciting new restaurants. You'll work alongside our Head Chef to prepare and serve exceptional dishes, maintain a high standard of kitchen operations, and contribute to creating an authentic and memorable dining experience for our guests.


What You'll Do
  • Assist the Head Chef in preparing, cooking, and presenting yakitori and other Japanese dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment in line with all food safety regulations
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management
  • Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth, coordinated service
  • Participate in menu development and testing new dishes or techniques
  • Follow strict hygiene, handling, and storage procedures at all times

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Chef or Kitchen Assistant, ideally in a Japanese or modern Asian restaurant
  • A strong passion for Japanese cuisine and craftsmanship
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills within a team environment
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to consistency and quality
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a growing brand
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Current Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain before starting)
  • Legal right to work in Australia
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
