As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality food and dining services for our residents. You'll work across kitchen and dining areas, support meal preparation, and help maintain a warm, positive, and safe environment. This role is based at The Manor in Batemans Bay.

What you'll do

  • Support the delivery of quality catering services in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Assist the Chef with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, trimming etc.).
  • Set up and provide meal service to residents.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas in line with hygiene, HACCP and food safety requirements.
  • Follow scheduled task logs and complete allocated tasks on time.
  • Report all incidents or events to management promptly.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across support services.
  • Maintain Goodwin's strong customer service culture and professional presentation.

What you'll bring

Qualifications

  • Certificate qualifications in Hospitality (highly desirable).
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working as a kitchen hand or catering assistant.
  • Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and service.
  • Experience with dining room duties.
  • Understanding of chemical use and application.
  • Familiarity with HACCP hygiene standards.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work with limited supervision.
  • Sound documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina.
  • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety (highly regarded)
