Melbourne, Victoria, Australia PEXA Group Full time $120,000 - $130,000

Hi, we're PEXA

Every time a house is bought, sold or refinanced in Australia your lawyer, conveyancer and lender will most likely use a digital platform to settle your property, this is where we come in. PEXA's world-first digital settlement platform has revolutionised the way we exchange property in Australia helping over 20,000 people a week safely settle their homes. And this is just the beginning. Our data and insights are helping organisations unlock the intel they need to drive change and possibilities.

Since starting our journey in 2010, we now employ a team of over 1,000 people working across multiple continents. We're still growing, innovating and looking ahead, but behind our greatest achievements, there is a team of curious creators and big thinkers. That's why, we're looking for ambitious people like yourself to join the team.

A Day in the Life

As a Financial Accountant at PEXA, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping our financial engine running smoothly. Your days will be varied One morning you might be reviewing general ledger data and preparing monthly reports, and the next you're collaborating with Penelope, Tanya, and Kevin to finalise month-end reallocations or support payroll processes.

You'll dig into detail, problem-solve on the go, and make sense of numbers that tell the story of our business. You'll also lend a hand with projects that make our systems smarter and our processes simpler. Whether it's helping with audit queries, reconciling accounts, or working through data in Power BI, you'll have opportunities to learn, contribute, and make an impact every day.

We work in a hybrid environment (Mondays and Wednesdays in the office) that balances collaboration with flexibility and you'll be surrounded by a team who values curiosity, teamwork, and getting things done together.

About the Role

This role exists to support PEXA's Group Finance function in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and smooth month-end delivery, all while helping our business make informed decisions. You'll work closely with both the core finance and payroll teams, providing insights, improving processes, and helping drive our continuous improvement mindset.

Key capabilities we're looking for:

· Strong technical accounting skills (CA or CPA qualified, 3–4 years' experience)

· Excellent Excel skills and confidence with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI

· Clear, proactive communication and collaboration with team members and stakeholders

· Analytical thinking and a keen eye for detail

· Adaptability — able to shift between projects, month-end cycles, and ad-hoc tasks

What success looks like in the first 6–12 months:

· Confidently managing month-end close and reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness

· Building strong relationships across Finance, Payroll, and FP&A teams

· Contributing to system and process improvements within Dynamics 365 and Excel models

· Acting as reliable backup for Payroll and Accounts Payable functions

· Supporting financial projects that enhance efficiency and insight
