The Role:

Bring your passion for food and creativity to the table We're looking for a skilled kitchen professional who can deliver dishes that impress, lead the team with energy, and keep our kitchen running smoothly. In this role, you'll craft and plate meals to a high standard, help shape menus and seasonal specials, and step up to oversee operations when the Head Chef is away. Key Responsibilities and Skills:

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard of quality, consistency, and presentation

• Check ingredients to ensure freshness, quality, and correct storage in temperature-controlled facilities

• Season, portion, and plate meals with attention to detail and presentation

• Oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef

• Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain quality and efficiency standards

• Ensure all dishes are prepared efficiently and consistently in line with café standards

• Contribute to menu development, including specials and seasonal updates

• Assist with recipe development and standardisation

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations

• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food wastage

• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirement

• Knowledge of worldly cuisines and capable of assisting in the weekly menu development for 'in-house corporate staff café

• Stock management

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.

• Equipment maintenance (i.e. cleaning deep fryers, combi ovens, etc.)

• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.

• Address customer feedback and make adjustments to enhance the dining experience

• Promote high work standards within the team

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

• Strong cooking skills with a passion for fresh, quality food.

• Leadership skills with the ability to delegate, train, and motivate a team.

• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.

• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

• Creativity and input into menu ideas welcomed.

• Flexibility to work weekends and peak service times.

Highly Desirable:

• Current First Aid Certificate

• Experience opening and closing the kitchen

Salary range for this role is $76,000-$78,000 per annum + superannuation
