Occupational Therapy, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital

What you'll be doing

The purpose of the position is to provide specialised orthopaedic & surgical Occupational Therapy services as part of an acute, multidisciplinary team. The position has responsibility for planning, co-ordinating and implementing evidence based practice in addition to providing clinical expertise and specialised knowledge, with specific occupational therapy assessment and treatment skills in orthopaedics & surgery. The position has line responsibility for the guidance of Level 1/2 staff members using specialised occupational therapist skills in orthopaedics & surgery, and may include responsibility for a Level 1/2 occupational therapist in the respiratory / cardiac ward. The position provides a Monday to Friday service.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Qualification recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and demonstrated experience as an Occupational Therapist Level 2 or above.
  • Evidence of advanced occupational therapy expertise and clinical reasoning skills within the clinical area of orthopaedics and general surgery. Additionally, experience in cardiac & respiratory occupational therapy service provision will be highly regarded.
  • Experience providing advice, support or supervision to occupational therapy colleagues and students, primarily in the clinical area of orthopaedics and general surgery.
