The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Older Persons Community Mental Health Team is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Clinician.

You will be able to bring your clinical expertise, empathy, and insight to guide a diverse, multidisciplinary team in delivering care that is person-centred, evidence-informed, and grounded in recovery principles.

Where you'll be working

The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Mental Health Service, Level 2 Palmerston Centre, Derby Road.

What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of this position is to conduct intake interviews with clients presenting to the Service both over the telephone and in person, and to respond to enquiries from the public and referral agencies.

This includes crisis interventions and routine referrals.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Recognised Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy with registration with AHPRA or membership to AASW. Social Workers and Occupational Therapists Level 3 require minimum experience at Level 2. Clinical Psychologists require master's degree and registration requirements. Clinical Nurse Specialist means with relevant post registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualifications or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and evaluate evidence based clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership, including mentorship and supervision to other mental health staff in the assessment, care planning and care delivery of people with complex mental health issues and comorbid conditions.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently, including establishing and maintaining partnerships and collaborative working with a range of internal and external key partners.
