
Corporate Audit Lead

Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide Audit subject matter expertise as part of internal audit function that provides assurance/insights to the Board Audit Committee and Executive Committees across Country Road Group (CRG) in both Australia (AU) and New Zealand (NZ). Expected outcomes include commercially pragmatic recommendations that will help improve the business and mitigate significant risk exposures across the enterprise.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead complex audit assignments across the entire lifecycle involving planning, fieldwork through to reporting (including follow-up of agreed management actions)
- Responsible for reviewing business areas/initiatives and generating commercial recommendations that deliver tangible value, business improvements, and mitigate significant risk exposures across the business
- Required to present recommendations and reports to senior stakeholders within the group and influence/advise them to achieve commercial outcomes
- Required to perform commercial reviews across a complex and diverse portfolio of business operations (including Customer Office, Information Technology, Online/Digital, Group Transformation Office, Finance and Shared Services)
- Take a leading role in integrating data analytics into audit planning and fieldwork, leveraging data to identify anomalies, trends, and risks, and to enhance audit effectiveness and insight
- Contribute to the exploration and application of AI and process automation solutions within the audit function to drive innovation, efficiency, and forward-looking assurance
- Train other Internal Audit team members in the use of data analytical skills and tools to improve the team's capabilities
- Establish, develop and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders to understand strategic and business objectives as well as the current and emerging risks to the achievement of those objectives. Expected to influence business stakeholders through effective relationships and commercial advice.
Key Capabilities
- CA/CPA qualified.
- 4+ years auditing experience (either gained in Big 4 professional service firm and/or in-house industry team). Alternatively, seeking high performing candidate with strong commercial, business experience
- Knowledge of commercial and customer centric business areas (including Customer Experience insights) as well as end-to-end business process cycles
- Understanding of risks and controls gained from working in multiple industries with specific industry experience of retail environment
- Ability to critically and commercially analyse business processes and projects
- Problem finding and problem solving mindset.
