About the opportunity

The Analytics & AI Solutions Lead within the Freight Services team will work closely with business and data stakeholders to understand complex challenges and deliver advanced analytics and AI solutions that enhance product strategy, pricing, and operational management.

The role focuses on enabling data-driven insights across the freight portfolio, modernising the data landscape, and building advanced analytics and AI capabilities. It also involves strategic planning with a product driven mindset providing expert guidance to senior leaders, and fostering strong cross-functional relationships to deliver business value through advanced analytics capabilities. 

The position requires product management approach with extensive stakeholder management, cultivating collaborative relationships both within and beyond Freight Services. The Lead also provides expert guidance to senior stakeholders, assisting in strategic planning and addressing intricate challenges, thus advancing the overarching objectives of Freight Services and adapting to organisational changes. This role is very similar to an AI Product owner or a Data Scientist where you will be building AI agents on top of related products. It's this person's responsibility to ensure the product is shaped in a way that adds value to the business.

You'll also

• Responsible for advanced analytics & AI solutions from requirements through to delivery.
• Own the performance of your advanced analytics & AI solutions by defining success criteria with stakeholders, monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and overall being obsessive about the quality and impact of your services to ensure business outcomes.
• Support the delivery of strategic insights, definition of the future state solutions & tooling, FS strategy, design, policies, framework.
• Define and deliver advanced analytics & AI solutions in support of actionable strategies to accelerate profitable growth and drive product improvement initiatives to meet corporate objectives on profit growth.
• Work with business stakeholders, data science, engineering, and IT delivery teams to design solutions, including MVP and experiments to validate and iterate quickly, ensuring that the business goals and performance metrics are clear and measured along the way.
• Develop and implement strategies, plans and work programs.

About you

We are seeking someone who can use their strong influencing skills to collaborate with our senior leader from our Freight Services, Pricing, AI, Business Analytics and Customer Experience Transformation teams. Ideally you will understand supply chain/logistics industry and can develop AI solutions to enhance our Freight Services business.

You'll also need

• Hands on experience with Data Science or AI Product Ownership/Development
• Demonstrated successful delivery of strategic analytics projects from conception to implementation and realisation of tangible benefits
• Strong stakeholder management, business acumen and business prioritisation skills
• Highly developed skills and experience in creating, testing, and implementing machine learning or AI solutions and realising business outcomes
• Background working in consulting or in similar freight environments is advantageous but not necessary
• Data literacy skills with proficiency in BI tools and Data Warehousing a bonus for this role
• Ability to design effective training material which promotes knowledge sharing and uplifts the data and analytics maturity of the team.
