Primary objective
Develop, coordinate, review and support project, policy, and program initiatives of the Transforming Aboriginal Outcomes
team within the Department of Children and Families.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Support complex strategic projects, ensuring alignment to outcomes through evaluation practices and provide progress
reporting as required.
2. Provide support and advice to ensure that projects are compliant with processes and accountabilities.
3. Maintain appropriate administrative and record keeping systems.
- Coordinate, research, and prepare high level briefs, submissions, reports, and correspondence to inform decision making
and project implementation as required.
- Provide documentation support services such as formatting, editing and distribution as well as reviewing and finalising
Ministerial and Cabinet documents in accordance with government processes.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in project management and providing high-quality comprehensive information, policy analysis
and program development advice including managing competing priorities to meet deadlines and working collaboratively
with others.
- Demonstrated high-level written communication, reporting, interpersonal skills and negotiations skills and demonstrated
experience in the preparation of strategic advice, briefings, reports and other correspondence.
- Proven initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work independently to a high standard, as well as collaborate
within a small team to lead and manage a variety of strategic tasks, and a proven ability to perform under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications and databases such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or
similar systems or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Demonstrated sound written and oral communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective networks and
collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- High-level skills in maintaining data with thoroughness, attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in human services, social sciences, public policy, project management or a related field.
