Maintenance Officer

Prompcorp is a leading Australian Commercial Cleaning and Facilities Services business, providing a full array of services to our clients in the convenience of a single supply stream. Our business operates at a National level across both Australia and New Zealand. We are looking for a highly motivated, confident, and ambitious individual to join our team in Camberwell.

This is an exciting full-time opportunity in the education sector for a reliable individual to continue driving our team's success. This position is responsible for completing basic day-to-day maintenance works for the Client, to the highest standard. The Maintenance Officer will collaborate effectively with the other team members on site to ensure seamless delivery of Prompcorp's contractual obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• The Maintenance Officer will carry out all maintenance-related works, together with new designated works, as they arise.
• The Maintenance Officer will ensure that all maintenance work and new work is carried out in a timely and professional manner.
• General carpentry duties are required to maintain buildings and property.
• Manufacture of small items of joinery
• General maintenance duties such as repairs to doors, locks, windows, etc.
• General welding repairs to desks/chairs, metalwork etc.
• Minor painting works as required.
• Safe use of boom and scissor lift.
• General tool and machinery maintenance ie. fans, motors, filters, sharpening, servicing and repairs.
• Safe use of tools and machinery utilising appropriate PPE.
• Basic care of air conditioners and wall heaters.
• Basic electrical test and tagging of appliances.
• Reporting breakdown of equipment
• Assisting other team members in other areas of work, as required.
• Other duties, as required.

Key Tasks for all Employees:

• Actively comply with all Company Policies and Procedures, including WHS.
• Ensure adherence to the Client's Safety Code of Conduct.
• Identify, rectify and report any hazards, accidents or injuries immediately, in line with Company & site procedures.
• Ensure compliance and assist employees, consultants and subcontractors in the application of Company Policies and Procedures.
• Undertake any training as required for effective performance.
• Work in a manner that will not endanger yourself or any other person.
• Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided, and report any defective or damaged PPE or equipment, in line with Company procedures.
• Comply with any lawful instructions given by a Supervisor or person of authority and respect all Company property.
• Do not engage in any duties that require a certificate or written authorisation unless the relevant certificate or permit is held.
• Do not attempt any task unless you are trained, capable and competent, or under training supervision to safely perform the task.
• Promote and be receptive to ideas for continuous improvement.
• Perform functions in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Collaborates effectively with colleagues, clients and contractors

The Successful Candidate:

• Must hold a valid Working with Children's Check or willing to apply for one.
• Must hold a valid National Police Check or willing to apply for one.
• Must have a valid Elevated Work Platform and High-Risk Work Licence.
• Must have a trade/ maintenance background.
• Must have 5+ years of working experience within facilities.
• Previous experience in building/ facilities maintenance is preferred.
• Excellent professionalism to be displayed at all times.
