Senior Maintenance Officer

We're seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Officer to join our team at the new Footscray Hospital. This is your chance to play a vital role in maintaining one of Victoria's newest healthcare facilities, ensuring it operates at peak performance for the benefit of patients, staff, and the broader community.

Working with our client Honeywell, you'll be the hands-on professional who keeps this critical healthcare infrastructure running smoothly. Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Operations

· Perform carpentry and general maintenance related tasks on a daily basis to a high standard.

· Manage equipment upkeep, furniture movement, and storage logistics.

· Support hospital functions and setups (e.g. events, exams, open days).

· Assist tradespeople and contractors as required.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.

· Maintain cleanliness and order across hospital facilities.

Facility Management

· Monitor building systems and ensure operational efficiency.

· Oversee security systems and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

· Conduct regular inspections and address safety concerns immediately.

Inventory & Supplies

· Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.

· Order and replenish stock as needed.

· Monitor and manage maintenance budgets.

Contractor Coordination

· Liaise with external contractors for specialised services.

· Supervise contractor work to ensure quality and compliance.

· Obtain quotes and manage service contracts.

Support for Hospital Operations

· Assist with emergency repairs and urgent maintenance issues.

· Support hospital staff in maintaining a safe and effective environment.

· Participate in emergency response planning and execution.

Preventive Maintenance

· Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.

· Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities.

Essential Requirements for the role include:

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in building maintenance
• Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current National Criminal History Police Check
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
• Computer literacy for maintenance management systems
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
