Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Sharp & Carter Supply Chain Full time $104,000 - $130,878 per year

Are you a hands-on logistics leader ready to make a real impact? This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a greenfield distribution and transport operation across VIC, shaping culture, service delivery, and operational excellence.

The Role

You will have full P&L accountability (~$70M+) and responsibility for three sites, initially centred on a newly developed, state-of-the-art distribution centre. Leading 120+ permanent and casual staff with 6–8 direct reports, you will ensure safety, efficiency, and exceptional service while driving growth and continuous improvement.

As VIC State Manager, you'll lead a major logistics operation, building and shaping distribution and transport across multiple sites. This role combines hands-on leadership with strategic oversight to drive operational excellence and commercial results.

What You'll Do

  • Greenfield DC Leadership: Operationalise a new distribution centre, defining layout, workflows, storage solutions, and systems for maximum efficiency.
  • Multi-Site Operations: Oversee and coordinate operations across multiple VIC sites, ensuring consistent service, process standardisation, and operational excellence.
  • P&L & Commercial Management: Own the full P&L (~$70M+), managing budgets, forecasting, cost control, and margin optimisation to drive profitable outcomes.
  • Transport & Distribution Oversight: Manage all transport operations, including fleet, route planning, and 3PL partners, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop 6-8 direct reports and 120+ staff, fostering a high-performing, customer-focused, non-unionised culture.
  • Systems & Processes: Implement and optimise TMS, WMS, payroll/HR systems, and safe work processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse operational metrics to identify efficiencies, streamline processes, and implement best practices across sites.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, contractors, and key customers to ensure operational readiness and smooth transitions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards, championing a culture of accountability.

Who You Are

  • Senior 3PL Logistics leader with a strong multi-site and transport background, ideally with retail or FMCG distribution experience.
  • Experienced in greenfield setups, site transformation, or multi-site operations.
  • Comfortable with full P&L accountability and driving commercial outcomes.
  • Hands-on operator who can lead in the trenches and influence at senior levels.
  • Strong communicator and team leader, able to build high-performing, collaborative teams.
  • Commercially minded, able to translate operational insight into business results.

Why This Role?

Join a forward-thinking market disruptor in this exciting phase of growth and development. This is your chance to build a major operation from scratch, shape culture, and influence service delivery for national customers. You'll enjoy autonomy, real leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to create lasting impact.
