About the Treaty Authority
The Treaty Authority is an independent entity with a mandate to facilitate the formation of treaties between the State of Victoria and First Peoples in Victoria.
The Treaty Authority's work is grounded in Aboriginal culture, lore and law and led collectively by a panel of five Members committed to Aboriginal self-determination and empowerment. It engages with a broad cross-section of stakeholders, including the State of Victoria, the First Peoples' Assembly and Traditional Owners in Victoria.
The objects of the Treaty Authority's work are to:
• Facilitate the journey towards reconciliation, mutual respect and tolerance between First Peoples and other people of the State and to
• Maintain, promote and advance the self-determination and empowerment, culture and human rights of First Peoples.
About the Role
The Engagement Support Officer provides essential administrative and logistical support to the Communications and Engagement team.
This is an entry-level role ideal for someone passionate about Treaty, Aboriginal self-determination and community engagement and eager to build skills in administration, communications and project support.
You'll play a key role in helping our team stay connected with community, supporting meetings, gatherings and conversations that bring people together on the Treaty journey.
This role is a great fit for someone who values relationships, learning from others, and contributing to work that strengthens our communities.
Working closely with the Community Engagement Manager, the role supports the coordination of meetings and events, maintains HubSpot (the Treaty Authority's client relationship management system), prepares materials for engagement activities and assists with a range of administrative and logistical functions.
Key Duties:
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and manage follow-up actions.
- Support the preparation and formatting of documents, reports and presentations.
- Maintain filing systems, correspondence records and shared team resources.
- Update and maintain stakeholder information in HubSpot and generate basic reports.
- Assist with planning and logistics for engagement meetings and community events, including travel, catering and materials preparation.
- Support the team in liaising with community stakeholders under supervision.

You are organised, adaptable and culturally respectful, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to meaningful work. You bring:
- Good organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner.
- A willingness to learn and apply culturally grounded engagement approaches that reflect Aboriginal lore, law and community priorities.
- Enthusiasm for the Treaty process and for supporting Aboriginal self-determination in Victoria.
- First Peoples lived experience
