The Opportunity

Are you a digital storyteller with a passion for purpose? The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne are on the lookout for a creative and strategic Digital Engagement Officer to join our dynamic Communications team.

In this position you will be responsible for developing and implementing a digital communications strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement and drive traffic to our online platforms (social media, websites, intranet).

The Impact You'll Make

Working closely with our team's creative and content developers, you will bring our stories and campaigns to life across all our digital platforms. In addition to this you will:

  • Develop and execute a digital communications strategy across various channels, including social media and websites
  • Manage our social media content calendar and grow our engagement with online audiences (including diocesan newsletters)
  • Create platform-specific content (copy, graphics and reels) for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Support our Creatives Officer with the design and execution of campaigns across digital and A/V materials
  • Track and analyse website and social media engagement monthly, delivering a data dashboard with actionable insights using Meta, Google Analytics, and other platforms
  • Deliver hands-on digital upskilling sessions for parishes, empowering them to use social media and digital technology effectively

About You

You're a skilled digital marketer with a sharp eye for content, strong platform knowledge, and a drive to build meaningful online engagement. You also bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Over 3 years of proven experience in digital marketing, with a strong track record in social media content creation, community engagement, and campaign execution
  • Proficiency across key platforms including Meta (Instagram, Facebook), LinkedIn, YouTube, and digital tools such as Trello, Canva, and WordPress
  • Experience working with CMS platforms—Craft is highly desirable—and a solid understanding of SEO, SEM, and email marketing tools like Mailchimp
  • A detail-oriented, organised approach and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, purpose-driven environments
