About the role

As a Business Development Associate in the Wholesale Distribution team at First Sentier Group you will provide support to the Business Development Managers (BDM) and Key Account Managers (KAM) nationally.

The Wholesale Distribution team is responsible for the promotion, education, sales and retention of our investment capabilities to Financial Advisors, Dealer Groups, Asset Consultants and Platforms across Australia and New Zealand. The team distributes First Sentier Investors, Igneo, Stewart Investors, RQI and FSSA products.

As part of a global firm, you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a high performing sales leadership team as well as build upon your investment knowledge. In this fast-paced role you will be exposed to large suite of products across multiple investment teams and all asset classes. You will be part of a collaborative national BDA team which plays an essential role in providing the foundation and support system to the Wholesale Distribution team.

Reporting to the Head of Wholesale Client Services (Australia) your day-to-day will include:

  • Build and maintain relationships with BDMs, KAMs, and financial intermediaries to boost sales and revenue.
  • Provide operational support on sales/retention campaigns and client communications.
  • Support sales campaigns, maintain client panels, and help achieve sales targets.
  • Make proactive calls to advisers, capture and share information, and attend adviser events.
  • Assist with data management, CRM maintenance, and provide analytics.
  • Identify sales opportunities, monitor sales flow, and handle adviser queries.
  • Conduct sales analysis, provide regular reports, and support the Sales Team.
  • Represent FSI positively at all times.

In this varied role you will have the opportunity to work with a range of internal teams involved in the entire investment process as well as build your experience with clients.

About you

Your experience & skills

  • Strong interest in investments and a genuine passion for a career the funds management industry.
  • Tertiary qualifications preferably in Commerce/Business/Economics/Accounting.
  • Completed RG146 / financial planning qualification or motivated to complete further studies.
  • Some sales support/client service/para planning/financial advice experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of FSG's funds offered and a willingness to enhance this understanding.
