We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to join our Transition Services team within Service Improvement, Queensland Shared Services. The role of Manager, Transition Services offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team to deliver critical business and system changes that directly support Queensland's public sector.

This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB).

The Transition Services team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business plays a pivotal role in delivering business and system changes for Queensland Shared Services (QSS) customers. As a key member of the team you will take charge of managing and scheduling a diverse program of work. You will also lead and inspire the team to deliver critical changes that directly support Queensland's public sector.

As Manager, Transition Services, Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Lead a collaborative, data-driven team that engages internal and external stakeholders to deliver business and system changes.
  • Lead the development and coordination of the Transition Services team program of work including identifying resources required, timeline for completion, and mitigate any potential risks or issues that may arise.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including team members, management, and clients, to provide updates on progress and any issues that arise. Establish agency working groups to design solutions and support transition to the final state.
  • Manage program of work activities to meet the required quality standards and governance requirements, ensuring any deliverables are completed to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
  • Deliver effective, consistent and transparent program of work reporting and contribute to effective decision making through agreed governance arrangements.
  • Promote and support a workplace culture of equity, diversity, respect and inclusion, and proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.

  • High level communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely, actively listening to feedback from stakeholders.
  • High degree of analytical thinking with well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data and information. Challenging the status quo, gathering new insights, ideas, and innovation to inform future practice.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing circumstances and reprioritise activities as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience working within complex governance and often conflicting expectations of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience across program and project management methodologies and tools.
  • In addition, this role requires the leadership capabilities of a Team Leader as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland booklet.
