Aboriginal Service Support Specialist

  • Location – Coffs Harbour
  • Full time temporary opportunity for up to 30 June hours per week)

This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.

Your role

As the Aboriginal Service Support Specialist, you'll deliver personalised support to vulnerable Aboriginal people, working within established program guidelines while remaining flexible to individual and community needs. In the Services Our Way (SOW) program, you'll work closely with clients experiencing complex challenges, as well as local service providers and community networks, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support.

What you'll do

Maintaining a focus on client needs and operating within an environment of program growth and development, the responsibilities of this role will include (but not limited to):

  • Working within a team responsible for delivering tailored support to vulnerable Aboriginal individuals and families in targeted locations, under the direction of the Place Manager, within a trauma informed framework
  • Effectively establish trust and work with vulnerable clients to identify and respond flexibly to individual and family needs within defined program guidelines and in partnership with other service providers
  • Consistently evaluate individual practices to ensure alignment with program guidelines, while identifying areas for development and fostering a culture of support and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across service providers and the AHO, while actively engaging in localised networking opportunities
  • Maintaining an understanding of regional issues that may impact on the program outcomes.
  • Working within program guidelines while responding to the varied community and client needs and balancing competing priorities to meet client and program needs.

What we're looking for
