Role Description/Criteria
As a Learning Support Officer at St Thomas More, you would be required to:
Provide support to students with additional needs as directed by the classroom teacherWork with individual or small groups of children to support learning in literacy and numeracyProvide basic physical, social and emotional care for studentsMonitor and provide support for children during play breaksKeep records to assist the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) processAdhere to all Child Safety legislation and St Thomas More Primary School Child Safety requirements.
Suitable applicants will:
Demonstrate an awareness of various learning disabilities and their impact on student learningHave highly developed interpersonal and communication skillsHave experience working with children with challenging behavioursDemonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with studentsHave a Certificate III or IV qualification in Educational Support or be working towards a suitable qualification (including a teaching qualification)Have a current Working With Children Check.
