We're seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic Corporate Bookkeeping division. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional who thrives on delivering exceptional client service while providing comprehensive bookkeeping and payroll services, with a supportive and professional environment.

The Role

As our Senior Bookkeeping and Payroll Consultant, you'll be at the heart of our client service delivery, and responsible for delivering end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll solutions to a varied client portfolio. You'll combine technical expertise with exceptional client service, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while building trusted advisor relationships.

As a Senior Bookkeeper you will be responsible for:

• Leading client engagements with professionalism and efficiency, serving as a reliable point of contact for all client needs – clients would consider you part of their extended finance function
• Managing and completing finance tasks including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes for clients.
• Managing complete payroll functions including processing, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance, including payroll processing, superannuation, payroll tax, termination payments, etc.
• Preparing and lodging BAS/IAS statements and ensuring all compliance deadlines are met and reviewing transactions for GST accuracy and coding
• Maintaining data integrity across accounting and payroll systems and databases
• Preparing month-end reconciliations, management reports and cash flow forecasts
• Setting up and optimising accounting systems for client needs
• Mentoring junior team members and reviewing their work
• Building strong relationships across Moore Victoria to deliver holistic client solutions

As our new team member, you will have:

• Completed a recognised bookkeeping degree or course.
• At least 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience within professional services or industry settings.
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Xero and MYOB, and Microsoft Office suite, including MS Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
• Great communication and prioritisation skills - you can juggle many balls, work at pace and deliver practical solutions to our clients.
• Proven experience at a senior level in preparing monthly compliance obligations, along with constructing and maintaining clear, accurate working papers.
• This role is offered as a hybrid role, with flexibility to be in our Melbourne CBD offices or at times on-site with clients.
