The role
We're looking for a Corporate Lawyer – Commercial to join our high-performing Legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact across Origin's Energy Supply & Operations business, with a particular focus on the LPG, Wholesale Gas and Coal and Commercial Transactions portfolios. You will provide legal guidance that drives meaningful commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on and negotiate commercial contracts including MOUs, LPG commercial contracts, wholesale gas and coal supply and transport agreements and other commercial transactions
- Support Origin's participation in key energy market initiatives for Origin's generation and storage assets such as capacity investment schemes and renewable energy initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders to manage legal risk, deliver strategic advice, and ensure Origin continues to meet its operational and sustainability goals.
- Work collaboratively across Origin's legal team to deliver practical, commercial solutions that make a difference.
What will you bring?
To be considered, you will be an Australian qualified & admitted lawyer, with minimum 6+ years PQE and a current practising certificate. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. With the capacity to work autonomously, yet collegiately within a team. You will also have or can demonstrate:
- Strong commercial contracts experience — ideally in energy, resources, or major projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.
